Several Adult Sunday School options are offered during the Sunday morning education hour (9:40-10:30) at Divine Savior UMC. There is no "homework" or long-term commitment required for these classes, so feel free to drop in whenever you are in church.
Current Sunday Morning Adult Classes:
- FaithLink (in the Library/Lounge on first floor) ~ Each week a different topic related to current social or world issues is discussed. United Methodist beliefs are applied to these topics with an open mind to others' ideas and perceptions. FaithLink not only motivates Christians to consider their personal views, but also encourages us to act on those beliefs-linking our Faith with Life.
- United Methodism 101 (meeting on the lower level) ~ This is a multipart class on the basic beliefs, practices, history, hopes, and mission of The United Methodist Church. Our objective is to learn about our identity and purpose as United Methodists-to explore what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ and to live out our faith in such a way that we help to bring about the transformation of the world. The basic text will be the Bible and six informational brochures, recently published by Cokesbury, that Barbara Dick helped write and revise.
