Who We Are:
The Faith & Social Justice Group includes anyone interested in issues related to faith and
social justice. If you're interested, just listen for announcements!
What We Do:
We are striving to make the world a better place! We take action to learn about social issues,
coordinate educational events, raise money for social justice causes, and to grow in faith in
a complex and globalized world.
Some Past Activities:
* Raised awareness of malaria in Africa and sold "Nothing But Nets" t-shirts to purchase mosquito nets.
* Learned about healthcare insurance coverage issues through material from the Wisconsin
Council of Churches.
* Held open-minded discussion sessions about proposed amendments to the constitution for Wisconsin.
* Handed out compact flourescent light (CFL) bulbs to help people save energy.
* Hosted movie nights to learn about environmentally-friendly energy sources (Green: the New Red,
White, and Blue), looking at social issues from different perspectives (Nobelity), and universal
healthcare (Sicko).
